One of our treatments, ClearCorrect helps patients achieve a straight smile without the use of metal brackets and wires. ClearCorrect is a system that uses clear aligners to move your teeth into a more ideal location. Today, we want to share five benefits of clear orthodontics.

1. No uncomfortable brackets and wires

If you picture someone with undergoing orthodontic care, you probably imagine a mouth full of braces. Traditional braces are incredible. They treat a multitude of issues, but not everyone wants braces, especially adults. Our older patients don’t want braces on their teeth, and they often rule out treatment if that’s the only way. Fortunately, it’s not the only way. ClearCorrect uses clear plastic trays that are removable. Nothing is fixed on your teeth at all, and the plastic trays are virtually invisible, making your treatment discreet.

2. No more food limitations

Having braces means having to worry about everyone seeing your dental treatment. But it also comes with some serious food limitations. The good ones, too. When you have braces, things like popcorn, anything sticky, gum, corn on the cob, apples … the list goes on and on. And, of course, you are constantly having to pick food out of your braces after every meal. With ClearCorrect, you simply pop out the aligners whenever you want to eat. After your meal, clean your teeth and pop the aligners back in. As long as you wear the aligners for about 20 hours a day, your treatment will stay on track.

3. Better oral hygiene

Having something fixed to your teeth makes it difficult to clean the entire portion of the tooth. You need special tools to clean around the brackets and wires, and there are several more areas in the mouth wear decay and infection can hide. ClearCorrect makes cleaning your teeth easy. Much like you would eating, you simply remove the trays to clean your teeth. You stay on your normal brushing and flossing routine. You don’t need any special tools, and cleaning your teeth will not take any additional time.

4. ClearCorrect take 12 to 18 months

A big question when it comes to orthodontic care is the treatment time frame. With braces, you can estimate that timeline between two and three years. That’s a significant amount of time. And, you’re also expected to visit the dentist or orthodontist every six weeks during your treatment. ClearCorrect requires fewer office visits, and the overall treatment time is just a little longer than one year.

5. Better comfort

We sometimes see patients who have scar tissue on the cheeks from having braces as a child. Braces can damage the soft tissue in your mouth, especially if you’re hit in the mouth. Then you have the tension of the wire tightenings. Patients say they experience discomfort for a few days after their wire tightenings. That doesn’t happen with ClearCorrect. The treatment gradually moves the teeth into a more appropriate location, while minimizing discomfort. You’ll swap out the aligners about once every two weeks.

ClearCorrect is truly an amazing treatment, as it address so many patient concerns. It’s subtle, convenient, noninvasive, virtually invisible, and accelerated compared with traditional orthodontics.
