Chances are you know someone — or you yourself — have had orthodontic work. The most common form of orthodontic treatment is traditional braces. These braces are commonly metal brackets and wires that are fixed to the teeth. Now, it’s likely that your dentist or orthodontist was able to help you achieve a beautiful, straight smile. But that’s about the only positive part of traditional braces. The treatment itself is sometimes painful, and the metal sticks out like a sore thumb.

Wouldn’t it be better to be able to actually enjoy your treatment? Well, you can with clear orthodontics. Our office has been using a special orthodontic system known as ClearCorrect to straighten teeth. This clear orthodontic system is ideal for adults who have mildly crooked teeth, but don’t want to deal with traditional braces. Today, I have a few things for you to consider about clear orthodontic treatments like ClearCorrect.

ClearCorrect is virtually invisible. We dentists have yet to find a way to wave a magic wand and correct your teeth, but this is sort of the next best thing. While you’ll still have a strict treatment plan, it’s possible that no one will even know you’re undergoing treatment. In some cases, patients have gone through their entire ClearCorrect treatment without their closest family member even knowing. Because the treatment is virtually invisible, you can keep it to yourself. And best of all, you don’t have to answer questions like : “When did you get braces?” or “When do you get your braces off?”

ClearCorrect is removable. I’ve spoken with some patients who feel like braces are a prison sentence. That’s a bit dramatic, but once those brackets are cemented to the teeth, they don’t come off. This is good for the dentist or orthodontist, because they can control every aspect of the treatment. But it’s not always to the liking of the patient. ClearCorrect is removable, which means you take out the clear aligners while you eat or to clean. You must wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day to stay on course for your treatment.

No food restrictions. Traditional braces come with a long list of foods to avoid. That list typically includes things like popcorn, sticky foods, or even corn on the cob. With ClearCorrect, you don’t have to worry about any food restrictions. Your favorite foods will never be off the menu.

ClearCorrect is not ideal for severe alignments or bit issues. ClearCorrect can fix gaps, crooked teeth, recessed teeth, and even mild bites, but it’s not a comprehensive orthodontic system. This fact is not necessarily a negative thing. After all, not everyone needs comprehensive orthodontic treatment. Some of us have a few mildly crooked teeth that can be fixed with progressive clear orthodontics.

ClearCorrect is affordable. One of the biggest myths about ClearCorrect is it’s more expensive than traditional braces. Usually, the opposite is true. With ClearCorrect, you can finish your treatment between 12 to 18 months. We’ll send you aligners about once every two weeks, which means fewer visits to the dental office. This saves you both time and money. Our office also has reasonable financing options so you can receive the care you need.
