How Dental Implants Work

You may have heard us talk about dental implants before without fully realizing what they are, so we’d like to begin with the basics. What exactly is a dental implant?

Though we can use dental implants in a variety of ways, the foundation remains the same. A dental implant is a titanium screw that is surgically placed directly into your jaw bone. It acts as a replacement tooth root. In other words, it’s the foundation for a replacement tooth.

Once we have a dental implant (or more, if needed) in place, we can attach replacement teeth so that you can chew, speak, and smile just like normal. You’ll have a completely natural set of teeth once again.

The 3 C’s of Dental Implants

Confidence – Smile, chew, and enjoy life with confidence. Whether you are missing one or more teeth, your self-esteem will be affected. A dental implant will help!

Cleanliness – Taking care of a dental implant is the same as taking care of a natural tooth. Simply floss and brush!

Comfort – It won’t be long before you forget which tooth is the replacement tooth. It will feel completely natural in your mouth!

Now that you know more about dental implants and what they can do for you, it’s time to claim your future smile. Call our office at 248-329-3552 to schedule an appointment.

It’s Never Too Late

Because it is dental implants month, we’d love to tell you the story of Mary. Mary grew up in the years following World War II. Her parents taught her the very best of the American spirit: selflessness, pride, and determination. She married and had children, who were her entire world. Mary worked as a school teacher and enjoyed school breaks with her children. Her husband worked as well, but the budget was always just shy of uncomfortable. They had a little bit of extra, but not a lot.

As time went by, Mary and her husband prioritized their children’s needs ahead of their own. The kids attended camp, participating in school activities, and had access to dental and medical treatment when they needed it. Within what felt like a heartbeat, their childhoods were over. The kids left home to begin their own journeys, and Mary found herself surprised by what she saw in the mirror.

She had spent so many wonderful years watching her children that she was caught off guard by her own smile. She had a couple of teeth that had fallen out years ago, and she was longing to look just a bit younger. That’s when she decided to call the office.

Check back later this month to see what options Mary discovered when she called. We’d love to have a similar conversation with you, so call 248-329-3552 or request an appointment time using our contact form.
