Are you tired of smiling with your lips tightly closed? Of hiding your mouth behind your hand when you laugh — or practicing other techniques to conceal your less-than-perfect teeth?

Your smile is important to who you are. It’s one of the first things that people notice about you, and it says volumes about your disposition, personality, and confidence. When you have a great grin, it makes an impression and people will take note.

Of course, if your smile is hesitant, closed-off, or self-conscious, you can be sure that people will take note of that, as well. And not in a good way. At best, you may come across as shy or unsure of yourself. At worst, people may think you are hiding something. And that can have major consequences in a job interview or on a date.

Remaking your smile into one that you are proud to show off will not only lift your self-esteem and satisfaction with life, it will alter other people’s impressions of you — and not because your teeth look better. Because how you feel on the inside will reflect glowingly in your confident, beaming grin.

If you are unhappy with your teeth, making a change is not trivial or a waste of money. It is an investment in how you feel about yourself, and perhaps even in the direction of your life.

What Is a Smile Makeover

A smile makeover is not a one-size-fits-all procedure. It is a customized plan created for you by Dr. LoCascio to fix all of the problems with your teeth and achieve the look you want.

It starts with a thorough examination of your mouth, teeth, and gums. We will take detailed digital images and X-rays, and use our advanced VELscope machine to check for signs of oral cancer.

Your personalized smile makeover plan will take into account your specific problems, your budget, and your goals. Whatever procedures yours incorporates, your smile will be transformed from dull (or worse) to downright dazzling.

What Procedures Will My Smile Makeover Include?

Your smile makeover plan may include any combination of cosmetic procedures offered by Highland Advanced Dental Care. It all depends on your particular oral health issues, your budget, and the look you want.

Tooth bonding is one of the simplest and least expensive cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer. But the results may still be stunning. With tooth bonding, we use a composite tooth-colored resin — much like the material we use for fillings — to fill in small chips or cracks, hide imperfections, close gaps, alter tooth shape, and even hide minor alignment issues. It can be done in one appointment and anesthesia is generally not required.

Teeth contouring is also a relatively easy procedure. We remove small amounts of enamel to shorten or alter the shape of the tooth. The procedure is fast, requires only one appointment, and is painless (tooth enamel contains no nerves).

Crown lengthening is when we remove a small amount of gum tissue to expose more of a tooth. This is sometimes performed so a tooth can better support a crown or other restoration, but may also be done for cosmetic reasons.

Teeth whitening adds the dazzle back to teeth that are stained due to years of smoking, drinking coffee or tea, or just age. We offer a professional-strength take-home whitening kit that is much more effective than drugstore products and less harsh on the tooth enamel.

ClearCorrectclear “braces” fix mild to moderate orthodontic problems. You will have a series of transparent aligners custom made for your mouth and gradually, they will shift your teeth into the desired position. ClearCorrect works over a relatively short period of time, and the aligners are virtually invisible when you wear them.

Veneers are thin porcelain covers that fit over the fronts of your teeth. They hide stains, chips, gaps, minor alignment problems, and any other number of imperfections to give you a showstopping smile. In fact, they were created for actors and are still popular with entertainers because of their ability to transform a less-than-stellar smile.

Dr. LoCascio is one of the few practitioners in the area to offer the scalpel- and suture-free Chao Pinhole® surgical technique for treating gum recession. This revolutionary procedure replaces the invasive gum graft surgeries practiced by many dentists.
